- Always air your saree for a few hours after wearing before folding and storing.
- Store sarees in muslin or cotton cloth bags, never plastic covers.
- Refold sarees every 3–6 months to avoid permanent crease marks.
- Use mild detergent and cold water for cotton sarees.
- Pure silk, zari, organza, and heavy embroidery are best dry-cleaned only.
- Never wring or scrub handloom fabrics harshly.
- Dry sarees in shade to protect colours and texture.
- Keep perfumes and deodorants away from zari and silk.
- Use low heat while ironing and place a cotton cloth on top.
- Add neem leaves or silica gel packs in storage during monsoon to prevent moisture damage.
